Experience one of the most iconic natural destinations in El Salvador with a guided adventure to Santa Ana Volcano.

This small group experience is designed for 1 to 4 travelers, making it perfect for couples, friends, or small groups who love nature and want to hike the highest volcano in El Salvador.

Your driver will take you to the volcano area where you will begin the scenic hike through volcanic landscapes and mountain views. As you climb toward the very top, you’ll experience the famous turquoise crater lake.

After the hike, we stop for lunch where you can get amazing scenic views.

  • You will need to get a  tour guide (there are plenty at the site) who will take you on a 5 minute walk where food, drinks, and bathrooms are located.
  • You will then need to pay the National Park Entrance fee of $1 and your journey will begin to the top of Volcano where the blue crater is located.

    🌋Santa Ana Volcano Hike -  Limitations and Requirements 

    • Moderate physical activity required(4–5 hour hike, ~7 km round trip)
    • Trail includes steep sections, loose rocks, and uneven volcanic terrain
    • Not recommended for:
      Individuals with serious mobility issues
      Severe knee/back problems

    🥾Physical & Health Considerations

    • High altitude (approx. 6,000–7,500 ft) may affect breathing or endurance
    • Weather conditions can change quickly (heat, wind, rain)
    • Hike may be cancelled due to strong wind or unsafe weather

    📋Requirements 

    • Guide is mandatory for all hikers (park regulation)
    • Must be comfortable walking for extended periods
    • Proper footwear required (hiking shoes recommended)

    • Not wheelchair accessible
    • Not suitable for infants
    • No alcohol or unsafe behavior allowed inside the park

    • We recommend bringing cash in USD, preferably in smaller bills ($1, $5, $10, $20)
    • Some local vendors, markets, and small businesses do not accept cards
    • Smaller bills make transactions faster and more convenient during your experience
